Christmas Outreach 2010
The 2010 Christmas Outreach was a success with many children, teens, and adults hearing the gospel message. The 2011 Christmas Outreach is still months away, but gifts are welcomed year round at the Flagstaff Mission to the Navajos' Christmas storehouse. When the gifts arrive at the storehouse they are sorted into boxes according to age and gender. These boxes are then lined up according to category and staff and volunteers fill Christmas bags with the gifts. The filled bags are then packed in more boxes and labeled. When December comes, the boxes are taken to various locations on the Navajo Reservation, where communities gather to once again hear the Christmas account from the Bible.
Supplies needed:
- crayons
- school supplies
- kitchen/household items
- clothes - all ages
- tolietries - all ages
- books/games/puzzels - all ages
- toys
- christmas bags
- blankets
The communities receive the gifts after hearing a message about the greatest gift, God's Son Jesus Christ. While our gifts by no means compare to the sacrificial gift Christ gave, they do serve as a reflection of his gift. Therefore, our desire is to make the Christmas bags filled with nice and new items that will be a blessing to those who receive the gifts.
